Hi,

I am currently running PCem using a 3dfx Voodoo 2 and a Pentium II 233 MHz on my Ryzen 7 5700X3D/Win 11.

So far, the machine runs smoothly and mostly on 100%.

However, the textures in King's Quest 8 look extrem blurry/washed-out. I have also tried different Voodoos, all come with the same issue.

Does anyone have an idea on how to solve this issue?

Thank you!

This might not be what you want, but that game actually ran with a terrible framerate most of the time regardless of the 3D-card or CPU. The engine is just capped this way. My guess is that it'll run just as well in Software Rendering mode with all the bells and whistles turned on, so if that looks OK to you, I would play the game that way rather than try to make it work emulating a 3Dfx card (which barely made a difference to how this game looks anyway).

edit: If I remember correctly, there was one setting that the 3Dfx enabled you that was unavailable in software mode, but I don't remember what it was.

[Install Win95 like you were born in 1985!] on systems like this or this.
