Long story short - I'm trying to get the REMOVED collection to work on a DOS machine. I've got a system built with FreeDOS and a 1tb HDD that can store all of the games. My first task is to find a way to get BIN/CUE files working natively. I'm to understand that it might be possible to create support for BIN/CUE so that CDDA audio can work in DOS, but nobody has developed it and it would be very complex and time-consuming.
Is there a way? What about Akuma's "BIN/CUE to ISO/CUE converter v1.07, supports : FLAC,MP3,OGG,OPUS"? Could I use this tool, mount the ISO's and then it would use the CUE files? What would it take to make this happen? Would anyone be up to the task, even on a paid basis?
The ultimate goal is to get all 7000+ games configured and working natively on a real DOS machine, and then creating an ANSI art-based menu system for navigating the games. But the first goal I'm trying to achieve is to get these CD games working the right way.
I've had some luck with converting some of the CUE/BIN images to ISO and mounting them with SHSUCDX (or whatever it is there) and I've also had some luck extracting the images to a folder and then using FakeCD.
What is THE best way?
