I am pleased to join you. 😀 This is my first post, so please be understanding:
I'm emulating an i486 computer under 86Box because I've never had one, and I'd like to see what I've missed as an Amiga user until the days of Windows 98. I've created a hard disk image in various formats several times, but I always run into the same problem: the program that sets the sound card setup can't save the new configuration to disk.
I can create and delete directories and copy files without any problems from both DOS and DOS Navigator, but the game installers themselves display a message that they cannot save settings. An example of such a game is Settlers and Panzer General. What could be the cause? The disk is detected correctly, some games automatically find the configuration, and I can fully manage the data from DOS.
