VOGONS

This game runs very poorly on modern hardware/OSes, but dgVoodoo seems to get the framerate under control quite nicely. The caveat to this is that the videos that play on the menu and as bonuses simply do not work. I can't seem to find a setting/tweak that will fix this, I'm curious if anyone else has a fix because this seems to be a rather common issue.

I got a crash by default... I fixed it and indeed, the video playback was missing. The game needs a valid GPU vendor ID for some reason, which the default internal virtual card do not provide (0x0).
Either use other virtual card like the GF9800 or set a valid vendor type/id in the DirectXExt config section and it should work.

Thanks for figuring it out! I'm surprised I didn't think to check that. There's actually a problem with the game without dgVoodoo where all of the text is black, and the fix is to change the GPU vendor IDs for your GPU type. Just some silly archaic setup that they used.
