Hi,

My WIN 3.11 won't load, first it shows the Windows 3.11 splash screen, then it complains that it doesn't have DHCP service, but then when I strike N as "No, I don't want to see future DHCP messages" the screen goes black and windows never loads. Wierdly enough I think it started when I changed the soundcard. Is it possible that there is some soundcard driver problem? It took me quite bit of work to get the windows working ant install all the apps... is there any way I can try to fix it? By editing some windows files? I dont' want to reinstall the whole system. Any help would be great.

Thank you,

Lukas.

DHCP is related to TCP/IP network services

Try running setup from the windows directory in dos, and setting the network to none for the time being.

It seems that it hangs after the DHCP attempt, when i try to run win/n there is some problem with SNDPORT.386, which is probbably sound related.

again, you can set up / change the networking stack configuration from dos, by running setup from the windows folder.

If you cannot do that, but running in standard mode does work, then do THAT, and change the network adapter to NONE, then retry normal mode.
