I have setup EZ-Drive on a 2GB CF card so my 486 can access the full size.

However, I now cant see the drive when I plug it into CF card reader in Windows.

Is it possible to read the partition in Windows so I can copy data onto the drive?

Same issue when using Ontrack disk manager.

Hi. Depends. Which Windows are you using?
Windows 98SE supported things such as SmartDrive compression and DDOs, I think.

thanks for the reply, I am using Windows 11.

The drive did not show up when plugged into CF card reader but I downloaded a partition management software and the drive was there, I just assigned it a drive letter and it then worked.

Anyways, I find these overlay software terrible, I think Ontrack actually stuffed up something in my PC as I now cant plug any other blank CF card into the CD-IDE adapter without getting correct size recognised. Not sure what to do to be honest. I tried 1GB, 2GB, 512MB CF cards and the BIOS detects incorrect sizes now. This is only happening since I installed ontrack. I thought it only writes info into the MBR of the drive, not in the controller / PC bios ?
