Back in 1999 I was still running a Packard bell with windows 95 and as I was preparing to go to college I decided I would learn to program. I ended up buying a book that included the learning edition of Visual Basic 6. Now here is the weird part of this! The first time I installed the software it asked me to install the service packs that were included on the disk which I did. After the installation and reboot the title on the start menu had changed from "Windows 95" to "Windows 95+98". I had never seen this so I ended up showing it to my brother so I know I'm not losing it. Even weirder is the fact that as Windows 9x does eventually it needed a reinstall but even after reinstalling the software and service packs the start menu never changed again so I'm not sure what option or voodoo had conspired that first time.
Short of editing the registry does anyone else remember this or know how it could have happened?
