I just wanted to share this rather good Windows 98 SE update CD that someone called cha0shacker has uploaded to Archive.org. I know that we have Auto Patcher and the Unofficial Windows Service pack, but this one is a bit different, it just has official updates from Microsoft without any unofficial patches or updates, something I wanted for a long time.

I have installed it on my setup, on a clean install of Win 98 SE and have not as yet hit any issues.

Just to be clear this is not my creation, it in someone else’s but I just wanted to share here in case anyone else finds it useful.

My System: SuperMicro P6SBA Motherboard, Win98SE, PIII 600Mhz, 256MB Ram, Voodoo 5 5500, SB AWE 64 Gold Sound Card, Roland LAPC-I

There's also the official Microsoft Windows Security Update CD which was released in 2004.

It can be used to update Win98SE and WinME as well.

Yes the problem with that CD is that there is no option of not installing IE6, it just install everything, plus it only goes up to 2004, I think that Win 98 was updated until 2006.
