Has anyone else noticed that on 486 boards using the UM498 chipset, utilities including pnpdump, Windows 95, are unable to detect ISA Plug and Play cards?

It's as if something about this chipset interferes with the algorithm for waking up an ISAPNP card.

IMHO most 486 boards were near PnP dead even if they somewhat support it thru BIOS. just my experience...

Hate posting a reply and then have to edit it because it made no sense 😁 First computer was an IBM 3270 workstation with CGA monitor. Stuff: https://archive.org/details/@horun

I don't mean through the BIOS, but that there is some hardware issue preventing unisound, pnpdump, Win95, etc. from being able to enumerate the cards.
