Figured I'd start a topic on this, given that I don't really see any talk about this. This was probably already discussed on the forum at some point, but here's my thoughts on it.
I run macOS on an x86 hackintosh machine running macOS 15 (latest version), and I use Parallels Desktop 18.3.2 to run Windows XP. I have to say it's surprisingly good. Basically everything just works, even 3D accelerated games. It supports DX8.1/9, input latency is good, is fully supports the guest so it has things like pointer acceleration. For lots of games it's practically a native experience. It's not totally perfect, however - I noticed that UT2004 has a weird warmup period where it has tons of lag spikes until you've been playing it for a while and then it's smooth. Generally things just work, though.
When I tried the exact same setup on VMWare Fusion for Mac, it was a much worse experience than Parallels. I haven't tried VMWare on Windows yet, so I'll be giving that a try at some point since I dual boot. I'd be curious to compare the two and see how they stack up.
I'm just curious if anyone else has experience with this setup? And if so, what kind of hardware are you running?

Not sure if you can display an fps counter in Psychonauts but it runs perfectly at 60fps.
Some random software, some of which I still use daily.
