Saw a build here the other day that is pure art, with a custom case and meticulous cable management, so I decided to do the opposite 😀

Used parts from 3 different Lenovo desktops to put together this ugly monster.

Added a Quadro M6000 and a Creative X-FI PCI-E

Installed a modified Windows XP SP3 with SATA drivers and etc and surprisingly everything works perfectly.

Specs:
Case from an old Lenovo ideapad
Power Supply is a 610W from a more modern Lenovo Legion Desktop
Intel i7 4770 (non-K version)
Lenovo O&M Motherboard with H81 chipset
generic 8GB DDR3
Samsung SSD 128GB
Nvidia Quadro M6000 12GB
Creative Sound Blaster X-FI PCI-E

My XP rig stated out as a parts build. Admittedly I don't own many demanding XP only games but that rig did everything I asked of it perfectly.
But as usual I started to get the upgrade itch and have replaced everything except the CPU, even though if I'm honest with myself the only upgrade that made a noticeable difference was the X-Fi for EAX

yeah, I don't plan to upgrade anything here, the main reason I put this together is honestly to try EAX. I just installed F.E.A.R. here, never had the chance to play this game back in the day.

Ps.: this later X-Fis on PCI-E bus are finick, I have 3 of them that I got from my local recycling center and just one works.
