I just installed Operation Flashpoint Cold War Crisis for Windows 98 Second Edition a few days ago running on 86Box which they say it's more stable and accurate than PCem as many of you already knows that.

Although, old games like mine always requires the CD to stay put so I already have it inserted, and for this after installation, when I start opening up, I get this error message appeared after the splash

Not sure why is this happening when the disc was already here on the A drive perfectly. And I had search around with this error to get it fixed and nothing's good appeared. So, if you know the exact best results to solve this issue, I would appreciate it and here are the specs of the OS I am running:

Machine type: Slot 1
Machine: ASUS P/I-P65UP5 (C-PKND)
CPU: Intel Premium II OverDrive, 233 mHz
GPU: 3Dfx Voodoo3 3000

You're trying to run a pirated copy-protected disc uncracked 💀

Besides, you won't get good results emulating this game. It was very demanding back in the day and runs even worse emulated. You're better off running it natively on modern OS.

That's not true, I am basically using the physical disc, not downloading an image file.

This error message usually comes up due to copy protection. Are you sure your disc is original? If so, maybe PCem doesn't fully support real Safedisc-protected games. You could also try the official patches, I think one of them removes the DRM.

Yes, my disc is original, I just went to a random store and they got the original game that they still have it. The disc is still running well from their old computer.

And the official patch you said? I would just like to know where to get it.

Btw, you didn't explain why your disc is in the A drive. It should be D.

Hey, there, the game works by using 1.85 patch only since the other patches has broke my game and had to reinstall including the Resistance expansion pack because that should be installed before the patch. And there is also a fixed EXE from GameCopyWorld that requires the Fixed EXE so both of expansion pack and the original game works on the Fixed EXE. I guess the results during in-game weren't good, ha, but I'll try the modernized and better one later since I was just thinking if it runs well.

Also, I apologize about the disc drive, the A is for floppy discs, and D is not but the game still works though.

Can you give me patch download links to legally remove the DRM?

I can help you if you need me, but hopefully if this resolves the issue, then let everyone see my solution.

Just look up "operation flashpoint 1.85 patch" and click the first link, but again, that patch requires the expansion pack of Resistance BEFORE installing the patch, and then go get a fixed EXE for the expansion pack from GameCopyWorld which shows 1.85 for English, then copy the EXE and replace with the original, but I'd recommended making a backup of the EXE file by renaming it before pasting the fixed one in the game's directory instead. After that, if you boot up the game, you have to make sure the "FLASHPOINTRESISTANCE.EXE" is the only executable file that can work the game although it is used to open the expansion pack, but you can start the original game in the menu instead, so it finally works to me. However, the best part I'd suggest for you is to install Arma: Cold War Assault than installing the original game.

Though, I had to type this just for those who would like to play the game instead of trying a re-release one (Arma: Cold War Assault) made by the company behind Operation Flashpoint.
