Once upon a time, I owned several iterations of Creative SB cards. I believe I started with the SB 5.1 Live!. I had short stint with the Audigy Gamer. I then moved on to the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro. I think I had some other versions but those are the ones I 100% recall owning.
I remember there was a function with at least the ZS Platinum Pro that allowed me to clean up audio that was "popping." This is not to be confused with popping or crackling caused by the card itself (I know that was a thing people had issues with on a lot of sound cards etc.). I think it was part of the EAX Control Panel software but I'm fuzzy on that. Circa early 2000's I had some tracks that had some quality issues and I would enable that option to clean up the audio and it actually worked quite well. I would like to be able to do that again.
My questions are...
1) Does anyone know of or remember that function?
2) If you do, do you know if it was only supported on certain cards?
I currently have the 5.1 Live! installed in my vintage setup and I love it but I'm willing to seek out the Audigy 2 ZS Platinum Pro just to get this function back. However, I don't want to go shopping if all I'm missing is a driver but I'm not entirely sure the 5.1 Live! (or the Audigy Gamer for that matter) supported what I'm describing. I know this is a bit of a long shot because my bet is that most people never used this function or had any idea it existed.
