Hello,

found the CD version of Future Shock. Installed it, patched it to 1.30 installed newest VDMSound, opened Dos with "cmd", typed "dosdrv" to manually activate VDMSound and started the game.

It's amazing, like the first time I've played it. Just have this Anti-Boost Tool TURBO on 78%. Runs fine on WinXP except of this issue:

Playing it for 5-20 minutes the game always freezes. There are no error messages just nothing. The picture is freezed, I then hit ALT-TAB and I see myself now back in DOS.

I directly restarted Future Shock and noticed that VDMSound wasn't active anymore, so I quit the game, reenter dosdrv and play it again to the next crash. Hope that this indicates something. Maybe VDMSound crashes the game and itself.

It does it permanently... Plz help... that really sucks: always the same way to restart the game: ALT-TAB, dosdrv shock load the game.... argh 😖 I'm not playing the game.. I seem to just wait for the next crash..

PLZ HELP!!

Try running the game without sound.

If it performs the same behavior without VDMSound then it's not a VDMSound problem.

Hmmm I will try it out.

Know I've found the SkyNET CD, installed it (setup found Future Shock) but now I'm not able to play both in 640x480. It's all really messed up in 640x480, why's this?

What can I try to fix this bug?

Hi there,

I went to setup to check if this crash-bug is related to the sound. It keeps crashing without sound too. Don't know why.

Last time I only could get this message, but I think it hasn't to do with the original crash I always experience:

GAME error : Shotstart whaaaaaaaat?? 😕

Like I said, sometimes it crashes after some seconds and sometimes after 20min.. This is really weird and I'm pissed!

Plz help...
