Hi all,

I wonder if any of you knows what is the order of inputs inside 4 PIN Molex connector to correctly connect a new keyboard cable (5 DIN).
Few months back I got such keyboard with completely cut cable and wanted to restore it.
But now I think that previously could be PS/2 and this is another issue if I can do it 5 DIN from it 🤔 ... or no, it has only 5 wires and PS/2 has 6 wires

I doubt there is a standard. Each keyboard manufacturer most likely just made one up for the internal connector

The pinout for a novatek 6868A is available, so if that is the same chip, simply measuring continuity on pins 1 GND, 3 DATA, 4 CLK, & 38 Vdd should provide you with the answers.

Right to repair is fundamental. You own it, you're allowed to fix it.

weedeewee many thanks, I'll check 👍

From the left side of the 4 pin molex:
1) GND
2) Vdd
3) DATA
4) CLK

seems something is wrong, I tested in BIOS and ESC button doesn't work, arrows work, will be checking, maybe keyboard button has an issue, I doubt it's cable but who knows 😀

Now it's clear. I didn't notice that traces look like burned a bit, no continuity on some of them (not so many at least, but still).
I have 3 same keyboards with cut cables, a seller didn't say that there are additional issues with them, but they were opened, no screws inside 1 of them even. So, I'll have additional fun to fix these traces 😁

If I had three of the same model keyboard and they all had traces burnt out in the key nets, I wouldn't waste time fixing them; there is obviously an issue with them carrying more current than intended.
