Hello,
I am unable to install the missing driver for my old Compaq ProLinea 5120e computer.
The computer is additionally equipped with 3dfx VooDoo 1 and SB 32 CT3600. I installed a clean system (Win95 OSR2.1) and drivers - of course, apart from 3dfx and sb, I installed a graphics driver (Cirrus Logic 5434 1.92B) and that's all because I don't see anything else. I wonder if there are any drivers for the motherboard? I haven't found anything like that.
I downloaded the drivers from https://driverscollection.com/?H=Compaq%20Pro … SS=Windows%2095, but only the graphics driver was suitable, and the rest are not needed.
Do you have any idea how to identify this device? I would appreciate any suggestions.
Best regards!

I’ve got Windows 95 running on a Compaq Prolinea, and I vaguely recall there being a Compaq-specific driver or utility related to the BIOS controller. It installs an executable that gets added to AUTOEXEC.BAT, allowing Windows to manage hardware ports directly (it even overrides BIOS-level settings; in a bad way).

Before installing the system, I used F10 Setup and Personal Computer Diagnostics 1.23 A, which creates a partition with a BIOS management application (F10 key before system startup), but I did not see anywhere a BIOS management application from within the system. Maybe it's this driver. The only strange thing is that the hardware version 1.0.10 visible in the attached photo is the same as the SoundBlaster CT3600, so maybe I'm missing something else from SoundBlaster. I am attaching a photo.
BTW HWiNFO causes the computer to reset – it starts detecting the BIOS and resets... at least the latest version 8.32; I haven't tested the others yet.

Oh! Could it be the IDE port on the Sound Blaster?

Try to run ASTRA32
ASTRA32 - Advanced System Information Tool for Windows

ASTRA32 has a Drivers Troubleshooter feature that allows searching for all physical devices and creates a list of all devices whose drivers are not properly installed or completely missing.

Thanks for the tip.
Astra32 scanned the system and (strangely enough) detected a problem with the network card driver?!?! Strange because the card is working properly (the internet is working), and yet the programme supposedly sees a problem with the card driver. Install the manufacturer's driver? Or maybe (because I haven't done this) some driver for the motherboard (VLSI VL82C594-AFC2 chipset)? Does something like that exist (I can't see it yet) or is the one detected by the system sufficient?
