Playing around with windbg and mercswin.exe of mechwarrrior2 fame.

Noticed this really confusing behaviour while stepping through it.

The first image shows 1 step, the second shows the very next step.
But the preceding code seems to change slightly/be interpreted differently once its run which seems very odd to me.

Anyone know why that is?
