If you're experiencing internet issues this morning, you're far from alone. Infrastructure company Cloudflare has been hit with what it calls "widespread 500 errors, [with] Dashboard and API also failing." The company said that services are starting recover, but customers may continue to see "higher-than-normal errors rates" as it continues to investigate the problem.

Cloudflare is a real annoying plague. Hope they loose millions of customers now.

The main problem with Cloudflare, in my opinion, is that it does not allow the Wayback Machine to save pages -- instead of actual content the WM saves a generic "You're not supposed to be here" page, meaning that any website or forum that implements Cloudflare is potentially lost to history from the very moment it starts using it.

I see a problem with cloudflare, and similar services, is everyone depending on them for everything to work. If the trend continues, outages will get worse.

Centralization of the Internet. More Single Point of failures arise. But at least it protects us from DDoS. Yeeey.

Bleh, I didn't know that. That is very unfortunate.

Now for some blitting from the back buffer.

Yeah the issue with Cloudflare is that it's such a great service, works so well, and they have so much capacity that it's far too tempting to make your site completely dependent on them, so when they go, half the internet goes with them.
