Last day i bought a M5Stack U187 Midi Synthesizer unit.
https://docs.m5stack.com/en/unit/Unit-MIDI
For dos/windows 98 games i thought this module works out of the box:
Sound Card Midi/Joystick Port-Midi cable out-U187 Midi in port-u187 Audio out 3.5mm-Speaker
(5v power supply to u187s groove port/Seperate Mod selected)

U187s green led works but there is no sound.
What is wrong in this setup?

Unit has sam2695 wavetable chip(gm compatible also like Dream S2)

Since you are using this not for it's intended purpose you will need to use it in a strange way;

If you switch the device to "spearate" mode, that chains the SAM2695 with the output port (It's intended to recieve MIDI data from a controller via the blue "grove" port and output it to the synth and output port), but since you have no controller connected maybe you can inject MIDI data into the SAM2695 using the "output" bus by connecting to the output port instead of the input port.

In "bypass" mode the SAM2695 is only connected to the blue grove port so that mode is useless to you.

If the RX pin on the grove port is standard midi data you might also be able to make your own adapter
