I bought a ibm netvista 6646 p3, it seems to have some kind of keyboard lock so i cant use any usb keyboards ( it does not have any ps/2 ports )

I have cleared the bios, removed battery but it seems to still be valid, i might be able to reprogram bios but at the moment i have everything in a storage and wanted to see if any one knew a better way to bypass it.

I do have something like:
system-security keyboard is locked
system-security keyboard is unlocked
administrator password and start order has been removed.

then it jumps in to bios but i am not able to use the keyboard, have tried few keyboards usb keyboards

naa, nothing yet...

I found this note in the 6646 user guide;

"When setting up your computer for the first time, plug the keyboard and the mouse cables into the USB ports at the rear of the computer."

So the front ports may be on a different USB controller that doesn't work in the BIOS
