I'll start by saying ..this is probably not the right place for this post...
By all means move it if neccessary.
A friend of mine brought a large cache of Atari ST floppies on sunday..he knew I had archiving equipment and wanted me to back them up for him.
Of course I accepted the challenge...as I have Kroflux SCP and Greaseweazle to choose from.
Thing is ..I've _never_ archived Atari disks so dont really understand the formats.
Since they are all ST disks I assume double sided 3.5 inch.
..and I dont own an Atari so to test them I've installed Hatari emulator v 2.5
Before any archiving they will get at least 24 hours in my modified food desicator.
Dont know how or where they were stored ...I have to assume the worst ..cold and damp.
so to my questions.
Which of my archiving tools is most suitable for Atari.. and what format to archive in ?
CTraw...scp IPF etc.
Some of the disks are original games (presumably copy protected)....some are coverdisks....some contain personal data.
Does Hatari recognise ctraw scp or IPF ...as I need some way to check any images made.
All will be done in basic flux format...rather than .ST or whatever the were originally written in.
Any advice would be most welcome.
