Hello

Any suggestions for a 4:3 LCD monitor with low response time and maybe a high refresh rate?
I plan to use this for either shmup emulation and pre-Windows 7 PC games.
I know most LCDs don't have great color accuracy but maybe there's a model worth taking a look at.

Average run of the mill CRTs also had pretty shitty color accuracy. So it's not a tradeoff.

You can forget about the high refresh part. But there are some new 1600x1200 panels made for arcade cabinets and retro consoles with a bunch of neat features like scanlines. Not cheap though and supply is low.

I must be some kind of standard: the anonymous gangbanger of the 21st century.

Yea, way too much money. Hence me trying to find older models.

Samsung had older syncmaster 4:3 LCDs that were actually multisync.

Depending on the model some had fair response rates, not up to modern standards but usually better than most period correct screens.

There were “exotic “ special built LCDs made back in the day that had good response times but I would expect them being hard to find.
