Hi all,

I acquired a Totem TM-586TX4 motherboard from flea market, but some components are missing from the CPU power supply circuit (they were de-soldered).
The board seems to be in a good condition, except for the missing ATX connector (it still have the AT connector in place) and the BIOS chip.
The missing components from the power supply circuit are: D11, Q7, Q8 and CT8.
I checked the thread Socket 7 motherboard condition? Totem TM-586 TX4 and D11 appear to be S16C40C, Q8 is TIP168 but Q7 is not very legible. I also assume that CT8 is a 1500uF/6.3V capacitor.
Can anyone help me figure out what type Q7 is?

Also the board is version 2.1 but the CPU power delivery circuit appear to be exactly the same as the one from mentioned thread.

I resurrected the motherboard using a KT818G for Q8 and a KT819G for Q7 that I had in my spare box.
For D11 I put an SBL2040CT and for CT8 a 1500uF/6.3V capacitor.
For the BIOS I wrote an AM27C010 with the BIOS file from The Retro Web.
Everything seems to work fine except that Q7 and Q8 are getting too hot on a Pentium 133MHz.
So I guess I'll need another pair of transistors with a larger Ic.

I finally had time to check the power supply circuit of this board.

Since I didn't have any original components, I used a pair of D44VH10 (NPN)/D45VH10 (PNP) for Q7/Q8.

The pair was getting very hot during testing with a Pentium 200 MMX, so I moved D11/Q7/Q8 to a heatsink mounted on top of the PCB using 3 screws and the existing holes for the relocated components.

I also had to cut the trace between pin 9 of the TL494 and Q10, because after a short period of time the IC became too hot to touch, so I put a 68 ohm resistor.

The PWM output was a bit too "hairy", so I put ferrite beads on pin 2 of D11 and on the B&E terminals of Q7, and also put a 470 ohm resistor between the B&E terminals of Q7.
Testing, using a DOS fractal generator, with a Pentium 200MMX, the heatsink temperature stabilized around 75 degrees Celsius, and with a Pentium 166 (non-MMX) it stabilized around 50 degrees.
