I have created a command-line tool for AI agents to assemble 16-bit x86 assembly language source code into flat COM file for use in DOSBox or on retro DOS hardware. The tool is feature rich and is designed specifically for agentic workflows like Google Anti-Gravity, Anthropic Claude Code and OpenAI Codex. All output from the tool is JSON which is the format of choice for AI agents.
So far, using the tool I have created
vm.asm - A 16-bit virtual machine that runs custom opcodes designed to stress test the assembler
cipher.asm - A substitution cipher engine with self-test
creep.asm - A 70s/80s text-base adventure game centred around a haunted house.
I don't want to push my luck by posting links so if you'd like to know more then please get in touch!
