Hello,
I assembled an computer yesterday from old/new parts.
Currently, the computer has the following components:

CPU : AMD Athlon 1.2Ghz (OC to 1.4Ghz) Thunderbird Socket 462/A
Cooler: ZALMAN CNPS7000B-Cu (NOS)
Motherboard: EPOX EP-8KHA+ (Fully Recapped with Nichicon Capacitors)
Sound Card: Creative Labs Live! 5.1 (SB0100)
Video Card: 3Dfx Voodoo 5 5500 AGP
Drives: IDE-to-SATA Adapter/120GB SSD (Patriot Burst)
Power Supply: Corsair HX1000W (Dual Rail 3.3v[30A]/5V[30A])
Case: Antec VSK4000E
Fans: 2x Noctua Redux 120MM 3 Pin

My question is, what kind of power supply would I need to replace the one above?
This power supply is from 2008, so I feel that it's a ticking time bomb. Voltages seem stable, etc.
However, because of it's advanced age, I don't particularly trust it. From what I've read, I'd need a replacement that has 20/24A+ on the 5V/3.3V rails?
The most I could find is a eVGA Power Supply (700W) that gives 24A on the 5V and 20A on 3.3V. (80+Bronze)
(Most the modern high end power supplies I could find, usually only have 20A for both 3.3V/5V)

Please let me know if this would be sufficient, or if there's something better?

Thank You!

The PSU still works so I wouldn't replace it. 2008 is long after the capacitor plague and it's also a good quality unit.

I like to use PSUs that tell me how many amps get used, looking at the SIV save files my system with a Thunderbird @ 1100 MHz it maxes out at < 14 amps.

It's just had a PSU change as the PSU from 2009 died.

There's a couple of seasonic units I know of

- SSP-650 RS: industrial model that can still be purchased new and has a 35A 5V limit, however it's extremely loud out of the box and you'll want to replace the fan. I run a dual P3 1GHz system on this and it works great.

- FOCUS GX: some of these have a 25A 5V limit, which will probably work fine
