When I first started using DosBox and switched to full screen, my Samsung 192N LCD monitor would be black except for moving block that said Video Mode Not Supported. Remembering a similar problem when I first got the monitor, I checked monitor properties in my Radeo 9600 card and found that EDID was reporting the monitor could run at 84Hz and changing to that when in 640x480 full screen. The monitor can only a support a max of 60Hz. When I set the card not to us EDID and manually set the max refresh rate to 60Hz, it worked fine in full screen

Close DOSBox and Edit dosbox.conf

fullfixed=true
fullresolution=0x0

Save changes and retry. This has been asked a zillion times now. You should have done a forum SEARCH before.

Unlocked it because user kindly wants to give his/her report on how he/she fixed it.

Thanks, mate for sharing the solution with everyone.

One thing that was probably not clear is the Video Mode Not Supported block is generated by the monitor not software. When I first started using this Samsung monitor I got it everytime I rebooted. I had to set Windows properties/advanced/monitor refresh setting to 60Hz. Apparently when I went to full screen the Radeon 9600 card did not use this and tried to set the rate to above 60Hz.

Thanks for unlocking
