Disc: This is the best place I know to post this. If you know somewhere better, please tell me.
I have a GEM WS2 Keyboard Workstation that won't stop acting up. There were some parts I had to replace following a battery leakage, but after testing the thing worked great... For like 10 minutes. It's always been weird, though. Some controls don't want to work at times, and it LOVES to do this thing where it plays the Bossa rhythm when I first turn it on. After removing / replacing some stuff, fixing traces, and cleaning the board, It will now work great until it decides to randomly freak out. It now likes displaying occasional junk characters on screen and even making horrid noises. The accompaniment buttons and the pitch+mod ball thing on the left seem to be particularly chaos-causing. I've determined the ROMs on board may be corrupted. This probably happened because the stickers covering the EEPROMs are hella light permeable and the thing's been sitting guts out in my basement for some time. The real problem is that I am at my wits' end trying to locate ROM files for this thing. No old forums, no Internet Archive, even searching filenames directly. Heck, at one point it was difficult just to find a user manual that wasn't in Italian. Not too much info about this thing on the English speaking internet, it seems.
If anyone has these files (due to site rules, use the Internet Archive), or any tips on how to find them, anything at all is greatly appreciated. Even if I could only have the checksums to test my own ROMs against, that would still be a great help. Thank you!!
