running far cry on my xp machine and some of the textures are missing and i don't know why. i'm running the gog version on xp. core 2 quad q6600 @ 2.4gz, 2gb ram, geforce 7900gs. my nvidia driver is 307.83. is this a common bug? any fixes for this?

The GOG release is probably patched for modern cards and OS. Try the retail version instead.

The first thing I would try would be an older Nvidia driver. Phil has the 91.28 and it lists support for your card, so I would try that first. https://www.philscomputerlab.com/nvidia-xp-gr … cs-drivers.html

After watching many YouTube videos about older computer hardware, YouTube began recommending videos about trains - are they trying to tell me something?
