Hello everyone,

Today I disconnected the computer’s battery and after the defaults were loaded, the sound card no longer produces any sound. Unisound detects it and everything seems correct, but there is still no audio.

I have made no HW changes and I have tested three different sound cards and the same thing happens with all of them. In my other retro PC, all three work properly. I was thinking that it might be related to some advanced BIOS setting. I am attaching a photo in case someone can give me a hand.

I have also tried different ISA slots and the same thing happens… so I assume it is not a motherboard fault. I’m starting to get a bit desperate…

Many thanks in advance.

P.D. My PC is a 486dx 33, with 8 Mb RAM

Did you check that the IRQ settings didnt change? Did you make sure the speakers are plugged in properly and on? if youre in windows did you make sure you dont have any settings muted? HOw about the autoexec and config.sys settings?

Thanks for your reply…everything seems ok. I use headphones (and I have tested two different pairs that work). I’m thinking in unmounting everything and beginning from zero…
