I'm trying to use my modern SSD with 4K sectors (?) on my Pentium 4 to install Windows 98 and then dual-boot Windows XP.

After a lot of troubleshooting, it seems like the WIN98 MBR requires the first partition to be located at sector (?) 63. DOS/WIN98 FDISK will partition it like this but GPARTED creates the first partition at 2048.

Does anybody have any information or suggestions for me?

Also, do I need a boot manager so I can dual-boot both OS? I don't want them to 'see' each other and I want both to be C:
