I got an FX 5700 Ultra with some knocked off components.
The card is working fine on VGA but on DVI it doesn't display output. The knocked off components are near the DVI connector so it does make sense.
I attached some pictures with the component that are missing. Marked them from 1 to 7.
Does anyone have a schematic or something?
Or maybe someone can tell me which are the most used values for caps in that area? If I'm not mistaken there are 2 diodes missing and the rest are caps.

Any help is appreciated.

This is actually a Quadro FX 1100 (NV36GL) has a different-ish layout. I could make some educated assumptions, but never 100% sure of the values from this diagram. Helpful nonetheless.

Unfortunately - there are no designators for every part, but we can make some assumptions, based on the schematic (attached below).

3 and 4 are BAV99 for ESD protection of the I2C lines of the display connection. Thus we can derive 1 and 2. Part 2 is a ferrite bead (150-220R@100MHz 0603) and 1 is a capacitor (220pF 50V NPO 0603).

For 5 you have to measure the resistor next to it on the left. Each I2C line has a series resistor (33 Ohms 0402) and a pull up to 5V (2.2kOhms 0402). Measure the two resistors next to D13 as well. I suspect one being the 2.2kOhms and one being 33Ohms. By that you can figure out which one is missing.

Due to its connection to D14 (both pins apparently) it’s safe to assume that 6 is the bulk cap for 5V in the output section, C382 (4.7µF 6.3V X5R 0805)

As for 7, I’d assume it’s a ferrite bead as well, by the thickness of the trace perhaps for power filtering.

This is reassuring. That's exactly what assumptions I would've made. The only thing I wasn't sure about is if the 0603 cap (number 1) was 22 pF or 220pF because in the NV36GL manual you will find both values on that top row of caps.

I sourced the parts and replaced everything except capacitor 1. Reason is that one of the pads are ripped off and it's a tedious repair I'm not eager to do.
Anyway, it still doesn't display anything on the DVI port. Usually things work out without a cap or two. So, should I start looking somewhere else or start repairing the pad?
I think caps are important if they are in series and it looks like it is in series with one of the DVI pins.

pin 16 DVI connector - Hot-plug detect (hpd)
Make sure that when the monitor is connected, this pin changes its logic state and the signal is passed on through the circuit.
Without this signal, the graphics card will not activate the video output.
At least for DVI/HDMI.

And the presence of a +5V on the DVI connector, which powers the part of monitor’s from graphics card side and is also used to send the HotPlugDetect signal back.

When i connect the monitor to the card (everything shut down) the monitor switches from "no signal" to "stand-by"
Powered on the card and measured pin 16 which is 3.4V and pin 14 which is 4.9V

Check Windows Device Manager and the Detonator settings to see if the second monitor appears after the operating system has booted.
HotPlugDetect should work, and an attempt to read the monitor’s DDC via I2CB_SCL/I2CB_SDA should begin.
If the process completes successfully, the second monitor should appear in the system.

Well, I want to start the computer from the DVI port. Not to make it work with windows shenanigans.

Anyway, I got a DVI to VGA adapter and in this case it works.
Maybe I should reflash the bios? Though I couldn't find any bios files for the PNY FX5700 Ultra

For graphics cards of that era, it was often quite standard behaviour not to enable DVI until the driver had loaded.
My perfectly functional Radeon 9800XT behaves exactly like this.
Literally – to install the system, you connect via VGA; after installing the driver, you switch to DVI.
And that’s how it goes.
Check in Windows.
If it’s detected and working, it’s just a quirk of the implementation.

Still want to try the bios route first. Any idea where I can get the latest bios from? Or any bios for that matter. Can't find it on techpowerup
