Hello, I recently got a well-priced powerleap adaptor to use tualatin 1400-s in msi ms-6309 v2.0 this board is updated to the latest bios, but unfortunately the tualatin codes do not come and it hangs in the post it does not detect anything... they tell me that you have to modify the bios by entering the tualatin micro codes and voltages... I have no idea how to do this, could someone here who knows how to modify bios help me? It's a shame not to be able to use that 1400-s processor 😉 please if someone can help me I appreciate it from the bottom of my heart

Easier to find some other board, most later BX boards work out of the box with Tualatin and since you have Powerleap the board does not have to be able to provide lower than 1.8 volts vCore also.

Many 3Dfx and Pentium III-S stuff.

Using the BIOS Patcher to add the CPU microcodes ought to do the trick. Here is a great tutorial that shows how it is done: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0KBYj1vx3zQ&t=58s

Watch that and decide if it is something you might like to try yourself.

A lot of times when you first start out on a project you think, This is never going to be finished. But then it is, and you think, Wow, it wasn't even worth it. - Jack Handey

Yes, problem is that MS6309 uses Ami bios and not Award. Otherwise, Bios Patcher is amazing 😀

For OP, I'd tey to contact with the Korean guy that currently sells the Tualatin adapters to be soldered to bottom of Tualatin cpus, and also modded ones, on Ebay. If I remember correctly, he had a patched bios for this board. Good luck!

BIOS Patcher is suitable for both - Award and Ami

P.S. Added Packard Bell Ami BIOS for MS-6309 (rev.1x I think) where the manufacturer already added Tualatin microcode (and WinXP support).
