Good afternoon!

After putting together a WinXP gaming machine (Dell Optiplex 745, E6600, 4GB RAM, 960GB SSD, nVidia 750ti, and Audigy SE), I've decided to branch off into doing a Win98 build out of another prebuilt machine. I've read the many posts of motherboards, processors (the toss up seemed to be between a P3 - 1Ghz or a Sempron 3100+), video cards, etc; the takeaway seems to be to find a machine that can take either/or AGP graphics or PCI graphics and to AVOID certain motherboards and bios.

I've come across a Compaq Presario SR1315CL AMD Sempron 3100+ 1800MHz 512MB for about $100 and have confirmed it comes with a ASUS K8S-LA motherboard (or derivative of that board) which includes 3 PCI slots, 1 8x AGP (1.5v), and onboard usb (and front access panels for it as well as sound).

Does anyone see any reason not to just get it, throw in the best sound blaster model and as good of a video card as I can find and then call it done with the Win 98 gaming machine? I guess what I'm asking is whether the Sempron and the motherboard are going to limit me (in terms of it being better if I went with Intel and a different motherboard) with what I can get out of a Win 98 gaming machine? Thanks for any suggestions or comments!
