1. is it true the BUMPGATE problem, about some gpu that will broke by themselve, said by google AI, and then all laptop with geforce 7000 serie will stop working eventually because of the Bumpgate problem?
AI google told me to buy only with geforce 6800go.

2. i can buy a dell precision M90 with quadro F3500
he told me it has the bumpgate problem ? true ?
and he told me this card has his directx 1.0 to 9.0c circuitry to run natively ? true ?

3. he told me i can install a geforce driver for 7900gtx to play ? true ?

4. he told me all gpu after geforce series 7000, like 8800 has lost their original circuitry and pipelines to play directx games natively from directx 1.0 to 8 ? is it true ? Because geforce 8000 series was first gen of shaders unified

5. he told me that laptop with geforce 980m will run directx games from 1.0 to 9.0c more easy and more games run without dgvoodoo than a laptop with geforce 1080, because coding in 1080 begin to abandon directx 1.0 to 9.0c ? is it true ?

6. he told me that laptop like a alienware 17 R3 with geforce 980m runs windows 7 perfectly, drivers exist . laptop with geforce 1080 like alienware 17 R4 can runs windows 7 with a gpu driver hack and some tricks to get the cpu working in windows 7 but will run less directx 1 to 9.0c games than 980m in windows 7 ?

Thanks for help and answer. i dont trust google IA much, he made so much errors lately

I know questions are difficult to answer. and it's long to answer that type of question. If someone has the courage to answer my questions, THANKS A LOT in advance

At least the bumpgate part that seems to be true.
You can look up RIP Felix on youtube, it's about early ps3 and xbox360 GPUs but it appears that most of the GPUs from around 2005 to 2008 are affected and defective.
Plenty of geforce 8000 series died in macbooks. So much that apple stopped using nvidia.
Although it appears that if you can keep the chips temperature below 70°C they should be fine.

yup, it's highly likely that it will die... they should be a bit more tougher than 8000s but I still seen couple of 7000s geforce laptop get their chip done. and no, I don't recommend 6000s mobile gpus either. the said Felix have also taken some geforce 6000s (6200 or 6400 it was in the video??? but definitely a mobile "go" chip) have the same color of defective underfils used in 8000s. late desktop 6000s also have the same story I think

Is it based on the Geforce 8000 series cores .. then it has an exceptionally high chance of dying,
7000 series .. its a little lower but still likely,
6000 series . .pretty low chance but still not zero.

There are reports of Bumpgate affecting certain 9000 series GPUs too, most likely the earlier released versions before nVidia fixed the issue.

Does any of this mean you shouldn't own one of these GPUs or Laptops . .no it doesn't but you should keep it in mind that if its still working today then its likely on borrowed time if its a 7000 or 8000 series. I own a Mac Books with the 800 class GPU in it and it still works just fine but has been modded to help prevent it from dying. (I know eventually it will still die, but its got a bit of extra time)

I feel that if you are not willing to accept that certain hardware is known to die then you should seek out other options like the AMD variants of these laptops, even Apple has AMD based Mac Books and they work well.

forgot to reply long ago, AMD based chipsets and gpus still can die so keep that in mind. AMD 700s series chipsets are real damn hot for laptops (especially when I saw it uncovered by radiators on the laptop I disassembled)

They do but far less than NVidia bumpgate GPUs do and the remedy for the AMD stuff is better cooling, nVidia honestly has no remedy other than temporary mods that can lengthen the time before it dies.
