I've got several of these laptops to put together one nice unit, but all of them were experiencing the "blinking light of death" from the ADP3421 power chip. I successfully removed the old chip and soldered in a replacement on one of the boards. Even though I get a solid green light after pressing the power button, the laptop will not POST.
I've double-checked all of the legs and the connections are solid. I've reworked the area a couple of times already just to rule out any bridging. I bought a batch of 10 chips off Aliexpress since they're pretty cheap, but is it possible that this one is just bad? I am still using the original BIOS battery, though I haven't seen anything stating that the laptop won't boot if a battery is bad or isn't present.
I've added a couple of photos, one with more solder and one with less.
