The faces pic looks really good. The water and ground textures look like crap.

I haven't watched the video.

I also didn't care for Far Cry - it was just a graphical demo in my opinion and wasn't any fun (but I also put down Doom 3 and Quake 4, so I guess I'm just not into plain FPSes since I played Deus Ex)

The third face looks like a Neanderthal to me. Come on, black men are also Crogmanon like the rest of us. Face proportions are all messed up but the detail level is awesome.

I agree with HunterZ. The water seems like crap (could be the capture).

I am not that impressed either.

FarCry is much better than Doom3\Quake 4. But yeah it is just another FPS.

They weren't successful yet back then. FarCry hadn't even been released yet. The project I was lead programmer on was cancelled when the source code appeared to have been leaked and some of my team members were accused of doing that. That negative atmosphere made me refuse (and quit) when I was asked to start up the project again.

Nowadays, I don't do game programming anymore, except in my spare time. Designing database applications and website/content management systems is my daily job at present.

The video looks very very good, but it makes me wonder what kind of system they're running it on. They must be using two $1000 video cards or something.
