While many know of him "stealing music" (he's a lawyer, he knows his limits) he's also helped popularized the use of SoundIdeas sound effects to the point that Doom gets misblamed for being the origin for many years. He made that iconic. This similar school of sound design was carried into Duke3D and Abuse

Also he's the SETBLAST guy.

It's a shame to see him pass away, looking up the list of everything he's officially been creditied for the last game he worked music on was 2014's "Wrack". I have no idea if he ever continued pursuing the field proper or being open to commission work.

Wait, HE'S the reason for Creative's drivers putting that "SET BLASTER" line in their drivers? A environment variable that almost *nothing* bothered using?

RIP, legend.

I really liked his game music as a kid, even though I just had a SB16. About five years ago, I came across a Roland SC-155 on my local classifieds, and was finally able to hear his Doom and Duke3D tracks the way he intended it. Brilliant stuff, even to this day.
