Hello Vogoners .My holy grail , my fathers business pc is here and i would like to upgrade .I would like to ask you if anybody here has a newer bios than bios 1.24 or if you know if i can try a different bios from another board
the chips are the typical Chips 82c206 ,82c211and 82c212 .Also do you know if i can overclock it to 16 , 20 or 24mhz? The pc has 2 oscilators , the typical 24mhz divided by two providing 12mhz to the cpu and a 14.31818 which is common to a lot of 286 motherboards .Any clue what i shall expect from a harris 25mhz? I already have an advansys 5142 scsi controller and an adaptec 1542cf , a wd90c00 and a wd90c30 and various soundncards.The original ram is 2*1mb 100ns which inupgraded to 80ns.Also i would like to ask you if the everex 159 or an intel above plus would work with an overclocked 16mhz 20 or 25mhz cpu?Does the bus has a fixed frequency or it follows a ratio?
