I like the idea of fluidsynth on the MT32-Pi acting more like a Roland SC-55. The classic example is the cymbal chokes in Doom E1M1, it doesn't feel right without it.
The MT32-pi project is currently at fluidsynth version 2.3.1, SC-55 style note cuts were implemented in 2.4.0 and optionalised with the synth.note-cut parameter in 2.4.3.
The plan was simple
- Checkout the mt32-pi project
- Cherry pick the commits for MSGS style note cuts since they were made while 2.3.x was the latest release
https://github.com/FluidSynth/fluidsynth/pull/1199
- Build and replace the kernel images on the SD card
Unfortunately I can't seem to execute such a simple plan, I set up a build VM and environment, set the CM4 module as the target board, cherry picked the commits for external/fluidsynth and thought I covered all the dependencies but the compiler is throwing errors that are above my pay grade.
I'm wondering if someone that already has the ability to compile MT32-Pi for the CM4L could cherry pick the commits, compile it and supply the resultant kernel*.img files?
