Yersterday I have installed VDMS and I have some problems:

1. Some games, sound and midi music, plays perfect (i.e Descent, Mario games gallery, Tronic...)
2. Others Midi music plays slow (i.e Lemmings 3D) but game speed is fine or viceversa (Psycho pinball)
3. A few of them plays ALL slow (Midi music and game speed) (i.e Ultimate doom,...)
4. And finally some games don't detect sound device and I can't hear sound effects but I can hear midi music (Lemmings 3D). I changed VDSM to use A220 IRQ 5 DMA 1,5 and don't work.

It seems to be a VDMS problem with DOS4GW games.
If use ALT+TAB to change between DOS GAME/Windows games runs with a good speed but only for about 5 secs.

Thank you very much and sorry for english

My computer:
AMD Xp 2200+
Audigy 2
Windows XP Pro+Direct X 9
Gforce 3 Ti200
1 GB Ram

DOS games do not consistently process their audio the same way. That means that 10 games with sound problems may need 10 different solutions. There is no single fix for everything.

Because of this, we ask that you limit each thread to troubleshooting one game. The others may be related, by trying to troubleshoot all of them at the same time will cause massive confusion.

Also, try a "Quick Search" for your game (top right of this web page), someone else may have had the same problem and already have found a solution...

3. A few of them plays ALL slow (Midi music and game speed) (i.e Ultimate doom,...)

Do not try to run the original version of DOOM on an NT OS. Use a port instead:
http://doomworld.com/ports/windows.shtml

When you are running XP and VDMSound, do NOT use IRQ 5. XP's built-in SoundBlaster emulation uses IRQ 5. Vlad's VDMSound uses IRQ 7, leave it that way if at all possible.

By the way make sure you all 3 parts of VDMSound installed (especially for XP):
To use VDMSound at it's fullest, this is the recommended install procedure:

Install Vlad's VDMSound program.
VDMSound v2.04 at http://www.ece.mcgill.ca/~vromas/vd...load/index.html

After installation is completed, copy the files from the 2.04 Update zipfile at http://vdmsound.sourceforge.net/files/ on top of the original files (wherever you installed them, the default for this is
C:\Program Files\VDMSound\).

Then download and install the GUI Launcher VDMSLaunchPad.v1.0.0.7, also at : http://vdmsound.sourceforge.net/files/

It seems to be a VDMS problem with DOS4GW games.

Actually, I think that is a Windows timer problem.
