I have created DES.COM, a small and fast DOS directory lister written in NASM 8086 assembly.
The main feature is its support for file descriptions from the 4DOS-compatible DESCRIPT.ION file. DES displays these descriptions directly in the directory listing.
To make more room for the descriptions, DES leaves out the date and time normally shown for each file or directory. This gives the descriptions more space and makes the listing easier to read.
DES also supports the COLORDIR environment variable from 4DOS. It can use the same colour definitions for directories and file types, but does not require 4DOS to be installed.
Other features include alphabetical sorting, directories listed first, wildcard paths, pagination with /P, and support for 8086/8088-compatible DOS systems.
The source code and compiled DES.COM file are available here:

More DOS utilities will be added to the repository in the future.
