In that case, VDMSound was probably working properly. You didn't specify what program it was that you edited the properties. Hopefully it wasn't your actual VDMSound, as that may ruin the program.
really? but there is a option "enable basic vesa support" in the properties menu, it can not fix the problem???
No, it can't. This is what is known as "poorly labeled feature". It does not affect what VESA your video card will support. What it does is make the command line window change to full-screen mode before starting the program you have chosen.
Some games won't work properly without it. Other programs won't work with it. It all depends on how the DOS program uses VESA.
Hrmm. Hadn't heard of this one before. Found a demo, initial testing doesn't look good.

These both are known problems, with no known solutions at present. Enter "hammer" or "settlers" into the "quick search" box at the top of the page and it should pull up earlier posts on this.
This one is odd. Why aren't you using the Windows 95 executable?
This one is a major pain, but you can probably get it working by following the suggestions in the Problem Child thread under the Death Rally post.
BTW, all these titles use VESA/SVGA video modes which cause plenty of problems on their own (nothing to do with VDMSound). This is directly related to what hardware and OS you are using.
You need to give us a description of your basic hardware and your OS in accordance with the Posting Guidelines posted at the top of every forum.
