Hi everyone...

i've got a lil problem with drally. when i start drally with vdmsound it locks up when loading sounds and music.
There has been a similar problem i found when searching the forums. soulution did not work for me though.

i'm using win2k on an athlon 1900+ geforce3 768mb ram sblive.
software used:
drally 1.1
vdms 2.0.4 (including upgrade 1) (using the context-menu item without the note symbol)
nolfb

i've tried drally with several sound configs (220/5/1 220/5/5 220/7/1 220/7/5 ...)

the game runs fine without sound - whenever i activate sound though, it crashes while loading

any help would be appreciated

thanks,
eCat

Have you got other programmes to work with VDMSound?

Yes, it’s my fault.

Hi Snover and thanks for answering that fast.

Yes. Usually VDMSound works perfectly - even with stuff i didn't expect to run at all (old stuff like megamaze - even got Monkey Island 1 and others to run that way)

I remember having the same problem in the good old days when i didn't have d-rally configured correctly. however - this time i double-checked everything... still there has to be a problem - most likely a misconfiguration on my side i guess.

Since the other post i mentioned above contained a few hints what to do and what to use, i even tried the abandon-loader - which didn't help either.
hope anyone has an idea 😀

again: thanks.

Thought deathrally had a cli/popf problem like some other games like doom, maybe cli2nop helps but i doubt it.

thx for the replies.

I've read the threads about dr in this forum - and since other ppl have resolved the problem without cli2nop i hoped i could get around using it since it is said to cause instability.
(showthread.php?threadid=244)
(keep in mind the game runs perfectly without sound)
however i'll of course try this and will inform you about the results.
further comments will of course be appreciated 😀

thank you all

Groovy.

Hey, maybe that Chris guy (the one that wrote the VxD for the Win9x version of VDMSound) can write something for Windows 2000 to catch the CLI calls like Windows XP does. Vlad, go ask 😀

Glad to hear it works. Closing thread: RESOLVED

Yes, it’s my fault.
