Hello everybody,

I have downloaded Dosbox 0.65 today. I have installed in on my 32 bit Windows XP Professional. When I start it up, I see 2 lines apering in the real dosbox (so the dosbox that is integrated in Win XP). The second line starts with "MIDI:"*. Then the Dosbox 0.65 windows freezes. The contents of the window is what is visible on the window behind Dosbox 0.65. When I move Dosbox 0.65 that contents is moved also. So when Explorer was open on the background, I see my folders in the dosbox window, and that stays the same when I move the window. When I click the close button in the top right corner, dosbox exits. What is causing this?
I have searched this forum, but I didn't find any useful threads.
The specifications of the PC where dosbox freezes:
NEC Versa P520 notebook
Intel Centrino 1.4 Ghz (Banias proc)
1024 MB PC2100 DDR RAM (10 MB used for the shared videocard, this can rise to a whoping 64 MB :p) (2x 512 MB. I highly doubt that it is Dual Channel, don't think so)
80 GB, 5400 rpm, 8 MB cache harddisk
Intel i810 chipset and videocard
Windows XP Professional 32 bit (duh, this processor can't run 64 bit OSses/apps 😀 )
Dosbox 0.65

*: I don't know the exact lines. I'm on my second PC now, and the first is offline. Dosbox freezes on my first PC.

If you need ANY more information, please tell me, I will try my very best to give it to you, because Dosbox is really great (it runs smoothly on my second PC, which runs Gentoo Linux).

Best regards,

Cybertinus

Now I lost it. I booted my laptop again this morning, and DOSBox worked like a charm 😁. I haven't changed anything in the dosbox.conf I got when I installed it. I really don't get it 😒. I think that the global magic trick (a reboot 😉 ) of Windows did the trick 😀. Really don't understand why it didn't work.
Thnx that you were willing to help eL_PuSHeR 😀

Best regards,

Maybe you ran some other program before that corrupted something.
