I have two computers, one a homebuilt desktop using an AMD 64 processor and a new MacBook (running Tiger) using the Intel Core 2 Duo processor and related hardware. The CPU power and the RAM are comparable (1 gig RAM for each, the AMD is like 2.3 GHz while the Intel is like 1.8 GHz). I have downloaded the DOSBox version for MacOS but a closer look says that it was programmed for PowerPC hardware. Anyway, I can get DOSBox to run but it runs rather slowly and increasing the cycle count doesn't really help. I'm not running resource-demanding games either, but things like Jeopardy! from 1985 and Moraff's Revenge. These games run beautifully on my desktop, so I'm inclined to blame the difference in hardware. Does anyone know if I'm right and if there's an Intel-specific version in the works?
