I finally bought Fallout and Fallout 2 in the dual-cd case. It installed and ran fine on my XP PC. . . once.

But now whenever I try to run it again, it gives me an error that there is not enough free space on my hard drive -- it needs 20M free space. Of course, my drive has 100G free. . . perhaps it's confusing it.

Has anyone had a similar issue, or does anyone have any ideas on how to fix it? I sure want to play.

Right-click on executable or shortcut.
Go to compatibility tab.
Choose Windows 95 or Windows 98.

If you had the ACT installed you could install the proper shim but you'll have to perform the above which is overkill but it should work.

Well don't I feel foolish.

When the executable was run directly from the folder, it worked fine. Changing "Compatibility" on the shortcut on the start menu allowed it to work as well.

Thank you very much.
