The title says it all. I have a DOS/Win98 machine for legacy games and before I go through the trouble of loading Windows 3.1 and trying all my old Windows games, can anyone add to this topic, games written for Windows 3.1 that do not work under Windows 95 or 98SE?

My sound card of choice is the Aureal SQ2500. If I want sound under Windows 3.1, I'll need to add a SB16.

For any dos gaming i would choose sound blaster 16. It also works for the newer games. Sound blaster 16 supports sound on old and new games. I would most reccomend switching to sound blaster 16. I forget the name of it but their is some game that is set in the old western times that does not work very well on 95 and 98. Biomenace always had that crashing problem.

You should run all windows 3.1 games on 3.1. I reccomend using dosbox and running windows 3.1 on it.

Rather than speculating, perhaps you could name the old Windows games you intend to run and which you suspect might not run under Win9x ?
