Hello,

My system is a Athlon XP 1600+ and WinXP.

I would like to play Planet's Edge (again, 'cause it's great). Adlib sound is working perfectly, but I've got a big speed problem. When I'm in space (leaving the launch pad from homebase), it's so fast that I can't do anything. The internal spped patch in VDMS doesn't work as 'CAP Dos timer frequency' doesn't work, too...

Can you give me some suggestions, please?

Many thanks in advance...

Hmm, yeah. That'll happen. Um, have you tried running it in DOSBox? I bet it's a DPMI game though, hmm... Well, you might have to wait, there isn't much to be done about games using processor clock speeds to perform things.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Well the CAP really isn't meant as a replacement for the various slow-down programs out there. Slow-down programs in general aren't a very good solution.

Fortunately, this should be pretty easy to handle by DosBox. You might have to increase or decrease the # of "cycles" that it's using to get the right speed. Be sure to read the ReadMe file that comes with it.

Fortunately, no. It's actually a 286 game. Doing some basic tests seemed fine.
