Using WaveWriter

Well after some fiddling around I finally got WaveWriter to output a file. However, I'm not quite sure how to view it. I got Wave Studio with my Soundblaster Audigy, and it can open .raws, but when I try to open the file it says "File is corrupted." The file itself has a Photoshop logo because RAW is also a type of picture file. I'm wondering if that's changing the file at all, but I can't disassociate it from Photoshop to test it. So does anyone know what I'm supposed to do with this .raw so I can convert it into something I can listen to?

It should just be a standard PCM wave file, or a standard GM/GS MIDI file.

Yes, it’s my fault.

Just:

The new LaunchPad has built-in support for writing to files, and outputs .wav files or .mid files.

Cheers,

Ah thank you. Someone needs to update the instructions on the How-To-Update page because it didn't say any of that.

Yes, the instructions are not supposed to say anything - yet. I just released these two days ago, still being tested (hopefully).

Hrm...BioMenace still locks up at the detection screen with update2+LaunchPad 1.0.1, but still does NOT lock up when I run it using the non-note "run with vdms" option. Yes, I have the CLI/POPF fix checked.

Oh, when I open the properties menu for LaunchPad shortcuts now, I get the following error:
"Could not gain full access to the specified file(s) because of insufficient security privileges. You may encounter access problems when displaying and/or saving your changes."

It doesn't _seem_ to cause any other problems, but it's a strange error.

Someone needs to check the patch DLL version numbers, etc. to see what patches in the HOW-TO-UPDATE thread are still needed. 😀

But Thanks! (and fix that Launchpad error!)

What LaunchPad error are you talking about?

Update 2 corresponds to CVS/LATEST so it obsoletes any previous patches, no need to check DLL versions.

vlad, read my post above again! That's where I describe the error. Thanks 😜

OK, the "permissions" error. Funny, you're the second person to report that. What OS+SP do you have, and what FS is the shortcut on?

BTW, I just realized that LaunchPad 1.0.1 has a problem with regsv32 (registers for the current user, not system wide), wo it will need a re-release pretty soon (1.0.1.1), so report any issues maybe I'll be able to sneak some fixes in there.

I count 3-4 reports. I'm using WinXP pro 2002 sp1. All of my FS's are NTFS. I also have DX9 but that shouldn't affect this kind of stuff 😜

Lot of public talk about something that isn't public yet...
