Question about Wave Blaster daughterboards.

So I've never really grasped how Wave Blaster daughterboards worked, and now I find myself with one all of a sudden.

This one is called a Diamond Monster Midi, and contains a dream9733 chip. It was pulled off a Diamond Monster Sound Gold PCI card.

I'm wondering if this thing work the same as a Roland SCB-55 daughterboard if I hooked in onto a Soundblaster with a Wave Blaster header. I guess my real question is are all daughterboards cross-compatible?

all daughterboards, use a standar connection header, like all isa / pic/ agp cards and so-on...
so it is no wonder that is works on soundblaster, the wonder would be the case it did not work!
